Staking Checks
The Next Generation of Staking
Introduction
Staking Checks represent the next generation of staking by providing a flexible and innovative way to stake the platform’s native $CHECK token. They transform staking positions into tradable NFTs that not only earn rewards from platform activity but also strengthen governance participation across the ecosystem. Unlike traditional staking pools that restrict liquidity, Staking Checks remain fully composable, allowing positions to be sold, transferred, or used as collateral in other DeFi strategies. This evolution makes staking more dynamic, accessible, and rewarding, aligning with the vision of programmable finance built for the blockchain era.

Overview
When users mint a Staking Check, they deposit $CHECK into a token-bound NFT account, creating a staked position that automatically begins tracking toward rewards. Each check contributes to the user’s staking tier level, which determines both reward share and eligibility for additional benefits. Rewards are distributed from platform fees, marketplace royalties, and yield generated by funds held in various unredeemed NFT Check types across the ecosystem.
This design creates a more dynamic staking experience by aligning rewards directly with platform activity and user participation.
Reward Structure
The staking model is built around structured Staking Tiers, where rewards increase with the amount of $CHECK staked. As users move into higher tiers, their proportional share of rewards grows, along with access to additional benefits and exclusive features.
Fee Distribution: A portion of all platform fees and marketplace royalties generated across the protocol is distributed to Staking Check holders.
Farming & Lending Yields: Interest or farming rewards accrued from assets locked in NFT Checks, such as funds held in payment, vesting, or escrow contracts that have not yet been redeemed, are redistributed to Staking Check holders.
Rewards are distributed automatically and can be claimed at any time through the Portfolio interface. Payouts are diversified across stablecoins and native assets, giving users a more reliable stream of income than systems that pay only in a project’s native token. This design not only improves stability for participants but also ties rewards directly to the real economic activity of the platform.
Key Capabilities
Staking Checks introduce a more flexible and feature-rich approach to staking. Instead of being locked into static pools, users gain access to unique capabilities that enhance both their earning potential and the utility of their staked positions.
Structured Rewards: Larger positions unlock greater shares and exclusive benefits.
Aligned Incentives: Rewards are funded by protocol fees, marketplace royalties, and on-chain yields.
Tradable Positions: Checks can be sold or transferred, preserving accrued value without unbonding.
Collateral Utility: Checks can serve as collateral in DeFi protocols that recognize NFT-based assets.
Governance Influence: Stakers gain greater voting power in proportion to their locked positions.
How It Works
Creation: The user mints a Staking Check by locking $CHECK tokens into a token-bound account. This establishes the staked position on-chain and defines the amount counted toward rewards and governance.
Maturity: Once minted, the Staking Check enters a short maturity period of one to five weeks, depending on the amount staked. After this period, the check becomes active and begins generating rewards.
Reward Accrual: Active Staking Checks earn proportional rewards based on stake size, with higher levels capturing a larger share. Rewards are sourced from platform fees, marketplace royalties, and yield generated by assets held in other NFT Check types.
Claiming: Rewards can be claimed at any time through the Portfolio interface. Payouts are diversified across stablecoins and native chain assets, offering stability and usability beyond just the native token.
Transferability: Staking Checks are tradable NFTs, meaning users can sell or transfer their locked position without unbonding. The new holder inherits both the staked amount and the right to future rewards.
Example Use Cases
Staking Checks are designed to serve both everyday users seeking passive yield and larger participants who want to take on a greater role in governance. The same mechanism adapts to different goals, whether that means earning income, maintaining flexibility, or shaping the platform’s direction.
Staking Rewards: Alice mints a Staking Check with 5,000,000 $CHECK, placing her in tier 3 Gold status. After a four-week maturity period, she begins receiving her share of protocol rewards. If she later needs liquidity, she can place the check for sale on a marketplace, while continuing to earn rewards until the check has been sold and transferred to its new owner.
Governance Focus: David locks 50,000,000 $CHECK into a Staking Check, reaching Chairman status. Along with the highest share of rewards, his position grants optional Strategic Governance Authority in the DAO, including DAO Treasury spending decisions, Checks Launchpad oversight, and security council participation. By staking heavily, David gains both significant rewards and direct influence over the protocol’s future.
These examples highlight how Staking Checks scale across different levels of participation. Smaller holders can enjoy predictable income without losing liquidity, while larger holders gain meaningful influence that ties governance power directly to long-term commitment.
Benefits to the Protocol
Staking Checks are not just a tool for rewarding individual participants. They also reinforce the long-term health and resilience of the ecosystem by reducing circulating supply, creating new sources of yield, and enabling deeper integration with other DeFi protocols.
Deep Liquidity & Stickiness: $CHECK tokens locked in Staking Checks remain out of circulation, boosting overall token stability and reducing sell pressure.
Enhanced Utility: As more NFT Checks (such as payment, vesting, and escrow checks) hold funds, the protocol generates more yield. Staking Check holders help secure and govern the protocol, and in return, they capture these additional earnings.
Secondary Market Dynamism: Staking Checks create a robust secondary market. Users seeking immediate liquidity can sell their locked stakes, while buyers can acquire an established staking position without having to lock tokens themselves.
Collateralization of Staked Positions: By treating staked $CHECK tokens as transferable NFTs, the protocol fosters new composability. Projects can accept these Staking Checks as collateral for loans, knowing they represent a tangible stream of income from the protocol.
Combined benefits like liquidity, composability, and security strengthen the token economy while giving users flexible options for managing their positions. By turning staking into a liquid, composable asset class, Staking Checks ensure the protocol becomes more resilient and interconnected as adoption expands.
Conclusion
Staking Checks redefine how staking works by making positions liquid, tradable, and composable. Instead of being locked into static pools, users hold NFTs that represent their staked $CHECK, complete with tiered benefits and direct rewards drawn from platform activity. This creates a staking model where incentives are transparent, flexible, and aligned with both individual participation and the overall growth of the ecosystem.
For users, Staking Checks deliver far more than passive yield. They provide diversified rewards, governance influence, and the freedom to exit or repurpose positions without waiting through long unbonding periods. Because they exist as NFTs, positions can be sold, transferred, or used as collateral in DeFi protocols, turning a traditionally rigid process into a versatile financial tool. This flexibility combines income generation with capital efficiency, allowing users to benefit from staking while still keeping their options open.
At the ecosystem level, Staking Checks expand the utility of $CHECK and promote long-term commitment to the platform. Locked tokens help stabilize circulating supplies, while secondary market activity ensures liquidity and adaptability remain intact. By transforming staking into a programmable and portable financial instrument, Staking Checks establish a stronger foundation for both users and the protocol, ensuring rewards flow sustainably while reinforcing long-term confidence for native token holders.
